7 ❀ Assignments

1. Internal Affairs Perhaps the most mundane of assignments but someone has to help keep this citadel running, right? There are hoses to be fed, fields to be weeded, and don't forget the other odd duties here and there. With this many spirits inone citadel, someone has to help make sure everyone has dinner and the laundry is done! Hopefully you have a good partner helping you today but as some might know, sometimes the bigger question isn't who they are but where they are... Someone has to do the dirty work! So where are you?!

2. Expeditions Not everything is about fighting. Sometimes there are assignments to gather intel or help clean up after another squad. There are small things that can be done to make sure history follows its course and some fo those things include feeding the hungry after a disaster or just making sure the right people meet after their paths were thrown off. Expeditions are perfect for the new addition that needs to be eased into missions before being sent to the frontline.

3. Frontlines - Before Whether you're ready or not, it's time to go out to the frontlines. There's a big mission everyone needs to do and history is wildly off course. A squad is gathered up and sent to a difficult time and a battle is inevitable. Is this moment painful for you? Well, such is the nature of a touken danshi, right? Don't get too close to "That Person" and don't get any funny ideas. ... Also, where's [insert name of problematic sword boy that was assigned on this mission for some god unknown reason]? Or maybe it's been 20 years and you're still on this mission! Sometimes missions last longer than a few days or weeks. They can drag on for months and those months sometimes become years. How have you been keeping your cover and making a living in this era? Remember, don't stand out or cause too much trouble. Are you homesick? When was the last time you saw the saniwa or your friends back home? Will this mission ever end?!

4. Frontlines - Battle Finally, it's time to fight! Everything you've done has prepared you for this moment and it's time to resolve it once and for all. Did you gather enough information to prepare for all of these enemies? You didn't get any funny ideas that might put you on the wrong side of this assignment, did you? Regardless of what happens, it would appears that [That Person You Keep Losing] has finally decided to show up when you needed them the most so at least you don't have to worry about that anymore.

5. Frontlines - After The battle is finally over and it's time to go back home. Was the mission a success or a total failure? Maybe you're coming back home with a +1 in your party. Regardless, it's time to get yourself checked out now. You've worked hard and it's time to get those repairs in. Hopefully they aren't too severe! But those with heavier injuries can expect to be down for a few days. Don't worry, there will certainly be plenty of bedside visits.

6. Wildcard This is basically an open post to deal with swords doing miscellaneous assignments whether it's mundane chores or mission based assignments. Feel free to come up with your own prompts for things like "babysitting the problematic sword boy," "have you seen Mikazuki Munechika?," and anything else you can think of.

“Trying to get you naked,” he answered airily. That was partly true, anyway, although he’s not so much trying to yank Kanesada’s clothes off as he is simply slipping his hands over whatever patch of bare skin he can reach. It’d spoil the game if he took everything off for Kanesada, after all!

“Give it up, Izuminokami! You’re no match for the peerless wake-up call of a Muramasa blade!”

He tries his hardest to try and squirm away from Sengo's grip. Maybe if he used a tactic like that he'd be able to free himself of this terrible torture and be able to run off, but with his speed and sheer power it was proving to be difficult. He laughed more, finding it more and more difficult to even think up a plan. Was this where he loses? Was this the end of Izuminokami???

"N-nooo! I-I refuse!"

But how much longer could he take this close up battle!?

“Where nakedness is concerned, you’ll never win against me!!”

Tsk tsk, Izuminokami. Sengo shows off more skin than you, but look where you are now! Sengo’s chuckling gets decidedly more devious as he finds himself gaining further ground. This is not unlike a swordfight, after all—you still have to read your opponents and seek out an opening either way!

And one duly presents itself to his keen eyes when he notices that Kanesada’s too busy trying to squirm free to maintain his grip on the futon. As such, with a grunt and a heave-ho, he manages to wrap his arms around Izuminokami’s waist and…!!!!

"Cheater! I call foul play!"

Okay, he didn't actually cheat. In fact Sengo has been quite the worthy opponent during these morning stubborn times with Izuminokami. He's just a sore loser.

He lets out a loud huff and tries to wiggle out of his strong grip, but this darn blade is stronger than he had any reason being!

…And with a final heave-ho, he manages to separate sword and futon! With a triumphant chuckle, Sengo drags Kanesada further away lest he get any ideas and try to dive back in. You owe him for this, Kunihiro!!

“‘Cheater’? Hmph. I undressed you from the confines of your bed fair and square!”

He groans loudly, finally his flailing and attempts to escape have died down. He has been defeated and it stinks. How could Kunihiro do this to him?! What kind of assistant doesn't let him sleep til his heart is content!? Kashuu and Yasusada probably let each other sleep!!... okay that's actually probably a lie. He could see the two of them terrorizing whoever was the last to wake up but still....

"Fine fine, you caught me fair and square. And pulled me from my warmth and happy dreams. Now I'm standing bare and with a loss of warmth," his words were nothing but huffs and puffs but there was a faint blush to his face (mostly because being caught like this was embarrassing).

Sengo lets loose a triumphant chuckle at this. Victory sure is sweet, especially after having brought down the great Izuminokami Kanesada himself!!

But this glowing sense of self-satisfaction dies down after a few moments, as Sengo considers what to do next. He hadn’t really thought that far ahead, to be honest. His only instructions had been to separate man from futon, and that was duly accomplished.

Aw heck, what else is there to do? “You’re not quite bare yet, Izuminokami…”

"What do you mean by that...? You got me up, didn't you?"

Izuminokami just gives Sengo a simple stare. He was always a difficult man to understand, but then again, Izuminokami had a difficult time understanding most of the swords much older than him. Maybe it was an era thing...

It’s rough being the baby of the Citadel, isn’t it? He’s really apt to get picked on by the older swords—Sengo notwithstanding.

“That’s true,” Sengo replies with yet another one of his signature chuckles. “But it seems you’re not quite awake yet, Izuminokami, since you missed the most important thing—you have to undress.”

Such is the pain of a popular sword like Izuminokami! Even the older swords can't help but want his attention. Okay, maybe that's more his ego than anything else, but that's not what matters here.

What matters is the way his face heats up as he stares at Sengo. Absolutely shocked by his words. "I-It's not as if I need help to undress!"

Damn, he’s still capable of being shocked by this? Then again, it’s not like Sengo goes around stripping everyone in the Citadel.

This is a special case, done by special request, toward a certain special someone…

“You needed help getting up, Izuminokami. I don’t see how this should be any different.”

It’s simple logic!

"Just what sort of man do you take me for? Do I look that unreliable to you?"

Seeing as how he had to drag him out of bed because Horikawa knew he couldn't be trusted... don't answer that question. But still, Izuminokami was pouting his way. Arms folded across his chest, trying to make himself look bigger in the process.

"Perhaps I should be the one undressing you!"

He honestly had no idea where he was going with this one...

Sengo merely grins, because he Knows. And that makes Kanesada all the more charming, for what it’s worth. But yeah, that’s enough of a blow to the guy’s dignity. For now, since Sengo’s finally hit the exhibitionist jackpot and he’s going to savor every bit of this, oh yes.

“Are you sure?” Just remember: you’re the one who brought it up!!! “If you can’t even undress yourself, then how can someone like you hope to undress me?”

That’s totally a dare.

Unfortunately for this hotheaded sword, he was easily tricked into dares such as this. Always wanted to prove his strengths and his worth, once someone called it into question.... well this is why he needed a baby sitter such as Kunihiro at times.

He let out a loud huff, hands on his hips as he starts to untie the sash around his waist.

"Who says I am incapable of undressing myself?"

Sengo obligingly gives him some room while Izuminokami moves to undress himself, content to watch the man totally fall for such a simple dare like this.

“I could name a few…” But he’ll just cross his arms and enjoy the show for the time being. He’s in no hurry to undress himself, not when Kanesada’s so generously offered, after all!

“But that doesn’t matter, does it? You haven’t proven anyone wrong just yet.”

And off goes the sash in a dramatic manner as he tosses it to the floor. His yukata slowly opening as he shrugs his shoulders back a bit, letting it pool at his feet. While he wasn't completely undressed, he stood there in front of Sengo with nothing but his undergarment.

"I believe you owe me some recognition."

“Huh…impressive, impressive.” Sengo nods approvingly at this display, noting with his expert eye the sensuality inherent in Kanesada’s careless actions. The man knows how to striptease, for better or worse.

But how far can he go?

“But you’re not giving up before you’re through, are you?”

"I'm not a man who gives up! You'll see soon enough the true beauty of this strong blade!"

This... is exactly why Kunihiro always seemed to follow Izuminokami around, because he always let his pride get in the way and then he fell into problems like this. A mixture of his pride and his innocence all wrapped into one. He let out a loud huff as he started pulling down his undergarment. His body bent over as he slips them off. Now the only thing really covering him was his long silky hair.

"As you can see I am no coward."

Horikawa should’ve figured that something like this was bound to happen! Sengo’s too much of a wildcard himself, and anything he does while unsupervised is bound to go…places…

“Huhuhuhuhu…” he chuckles—nay, cackles—for his mirth doth speak to the diabolical as Kanesada bares himself to Sengo’s gaze (which granted isn’t all that impressive or unusual—they’ve all seen each other naked at the baths by now), even as his hair is conveniently censoring the naughty bits for those of you folks watching them back home!!!

Sengo still continues laughing, by the way. He’s even gone so far as to clutch at his face and his stomach as Kanesada completely and utterly…

“You actually fell for it…!”

Oh no... that cackling. The look on his face... Kanesada honestly felt chills going up his spine and it definitely wasn't because of the chill in the air. What could he have possibly done to cause him to cackle like this? He should be afraid, shouldn't he? He was close to reaching out to the other sword when he finally spoke up again.

'Actually fell for it...' just kept repeating in his mind until it finally dawned on him.

"You were just pranking me?!"

[ Welcome back!! I’m still game! ]

“Heh,” Sengo replies, his whole body still trembling with undisguised mirth even as he tries to collect himself.

“Somewhat.” Whatever that means. “But I did get you to undress, didn’t I? Regardless of what it took for you to get there, the victory is mine!”

Okay but since when did this become a competition—

"That's hardly fair. You didn't even give me a chance to fight back!"

What sort of sword complains about falling pray to ones own stupidity?... This sword, that's who. But he wasn't giving up now, arms crossed, pouting clearly shining through on his face.

"For a man who wants to bare it all, you BAREly gave me and even chance!"

“I did. You were the one who wouldn’t wake up for it,” he points out, quite reasonably, he might add. But if Kanesada wants to nitpick the bare essentials, they’d be here all day—and not in the fun way.

“But if you want a rematch…” Guess they’re both missing breakfast now, aren’t they? And Horikawa will probably kill him for this later on, but Sengo knows it’ll be worth it.

"Yes! A rematch! Surely this time I will beat you at your own game."

At his own game, as if he even understood the game Sengo was playing right now in the first place.

“Huhu, are you sure about that? This is a game meant for the manliest of men, Izuminokami. I’d feel bad for having to put you through it.”

It’s just about undressing, right? Right? But Kanesada’s already undressed himself, after all, and saved Sengo a world of trouble even if he does enjoy the process. Clearly they have to take the next step from here on.
