| Hanahaki is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear. |

( Mutsunokami calls out just as he's in the middle of a coughing fit and he stops. He's carrying a basket with a rather large pile of laundry coming out of it. It looks like he's tried to toss everything into one basket so he won't have to make another trip back to the laundry room but in the process, he's just added more than he can carry. He was going to ask Chougi to help but...

[ He hadn't thought there was anybody along the hall. Just his luck. Chougi wraps his hand around the flowers he's just coughed up and curls his fist tight. He can't shove them into his pocket, that would be way too obvious, but he spends so much time tense that having his hands in fists probably isn't all that noticeable. ]
Didn't anyone ever tell you not to sneak up on people?
[ He rubs his mouth with the back of his other hand. ]
And I'm fine, I swallowed wrong. These stupid bodies.
[ Yeah, good lie. These stupid human bodies are always doing something weird, and every sword has swallowed wrong and started coughing or laughed so hard they snorted their tea at least once. That'll work. ]

That's a reaction. He's looking up at Chougi pretty innocently, wondering what has him all worked up today. And if you thought he'd just keep that thought to himself, you were wrong, )
What's got ya all worked up today?
( Yeah.
It's a good excuse, though. These human bodies are always doing something. Heck, Mutsu is always finding something new to choke on every other week these days and he's been doing this human body thing for a while. )
Yeah? You should get some water or something. Or d'ya need a pat on the back?

I'm not worked up about anything, you just surprised me.
[ Okay, it was...a slightly larger than usual reaction, even for Chougi. But look, he's fine now. He's not even coughing anymore. For the moment anyway. He just needs to get rid of Mutsu and then get rid of the flowers hidden in his hand and then everything really will be fine, see? ]

( Chill, Chougi. He holds up up his hands to try to get the other sword to relax. No point in getting him all worked up when he's trying to ask for help. Patting the top of the laundry pile, )
I was gonna ask if you could take some for me. Gotta hang 'em out to dry if we're gonna sleep tonight.
