0 ❀ INTRODUCTION + FALL MEME
0 ❀ FIRST MONTH / FALL MEME ![]() |
1. HOME SWEET… HOME? Born from the flame and given life by a saniwa sage, you come into the world with your self introduction all ready to go. When it's all said and done, you finally take a look at your surroundings and… did someone actually summon you or did you wake up in an abandoned warehouse? This citadel is completely run down and in desperate need of some TLC… and help getting together. Did the saniwa actually summon you to help clean house?! Clean the floors, fix the shoji, exercise the spirits that have gotten a little too comfortable in the run down citadel, and find out which loser is going to have to clean the baths. 2. GRAND TOUR A new sword has arrived at the citadel. Are you getting the citadel ready for them? With enough swords in the citadel, it might be hard to figure out which room to fit their bed in. Or maybe you're the new arrival being greeted and touring your new home… it looks kind of run down, doesn't it? Or maybe you've come a little later in the month when things are mostly up and running. Anyway, happy birthday and everything so go make friends. Say hello! 3. LIMITED SUPPLIES It's hard starting off as a new sword army. You never seem to have enough resources and I'm not talking about coolant (though, forging all of those swords to help set up the citadel wasn't pretty costly). Fall is ending and winter is coming and that supply of blankets, heaters, and winter clothes hasn't come in yet. It's cold outside and you may have fixed it up but this citadel still isn't insulated. But hey, at least there's plenty of food… right?! 4. HOW MUCH BLOOD DO I REALLY NEED? You're human now! Isn't that exciting? These new bodies come with a lot of responsibilities so you better learn how to take care of yourselves. Remember to eat when you're hungry, rest when you're tired, and drink when you're thirsty. Also, if something hurts then that probably means you should stop. Test your limits, learn new feelings, and try not to die. 5. THE FUTURE IS HERE It's been awhile since you guys were last out and about, right? There's a lot of catching up to do with history and technology. Did you know man can fly? And they've even flown all the way to the moon? No? Well, maybe you'll have better luck learning how things work around here. The technology is pretty out dated by the saniwa's standards (seriously, who still has landlines?) but that electric rice cooker is pretty high tech for the average sword! Maybe you're a fast learner, maybe you were around when the saniwa was able to teach you how to function in the kitchen, or maybe you're trying to figure out how many swords it takes to change a lightbulb. 6. PEST CONTROL The citadel was left alone for a long time before we showed up. Some of the spirits in the surrounding woods had gotten comfortable here. Most of them are pretty harmless nature spirits and have timidly retreated back into the forest but there are some more troublesome ones sneaking around. They're two-bit, lowlife spirits that tend to keep to the shadows or skulk right outside the citadel's perimeter but you should probably take care of them before they really start to cause trouble. You wouldn't want the spirit of that dirty cotton ball you found in storage to smother you in your sleep, right? 7. AUTUMN ASSIGNMENTS You've been on a few sorties and expeditions by now and with fixing up the citadel, it probably feels like you've been doing chores every day but there are also other things to do this month before the season ends. Next to the assignment board is a piece of paper tacked on the wall with a few extra assignments for all of you to try out. B. MOON VIEWING. We may have missed the actual day of the autumn moon... but autumn isn't over and the moon isn't going away anytime soon. The saniwa has brought some assorted snacks from the town and you can buy more at the general store. Stay up late after a hard day of work and watch the moon from the citadel's garden. Some say curious things happen when you watch the moon. C. AUTUMN COLORS. Even though we missed the equinox, we're just in time to see the fall colors at their peak. The forest around the citadel is an autumnal rainbow. Relax under the falling leaves or collect a huge pile and watch someone jump into it. The air is crisp and clear but you can smell something smokey as someone grills/roasts traditional food on a small fire. Stuff yourself with fish, chestnuts, sweet potato, mushrooms, and more. You could even eat up some of those left over sweets from the late moon viewing. D. 8. PICK YOUR OWN ADVENTURE. You know what to do. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is our first catch-all open post! I'm combining the first month with the fall catch-all. |
taikogane sadamune (ota!)
[ So here he is, being summoned into the brand new citadel..! So whoever summons him, in the warehouse, is greeted with a flash of light and a big grin. The sword points to himself and introduces himself almost immediately! ]
I'm Taikogane Sadamune! I'm a sword used--
[ A pause... Looks around... This is such a run down place, and that grin turns into a confused expression, and he rubs the back of his head. ]
Ehh... This place doesn't look cool at all-- where am I?
3. where blankets
[ Considering his internal affairs outfit is basically akin to your usual track outfit it's... Not that warm at all. It's about to be that time where the winter weather is rolling in, so mornings are cold. ]
Aaahh... Aaa-achoo!
[ Yes... That was Sadamume, who is now rolling down his sleeves trying to get some more layers over his skin. There's no way he could wear something else though!? HIS outfit is stylish, flashy, and cool... He can't wear something else unless it has the Sadamune Seal Of Cool Approval(TM). ]
Hey hey! Is there anything we can do to make this place warmer... I think I might get sick? Can I get sick now? That's what I was told I think - ah... That's not so cool... Human bodies are weird.
[ Help. ]
7. have a nice trip see you next fall
A.
[ Annnd chestnut time! Sadamune is determined to get as many as he can because hey, wouldn't that make him look awesome? He'd be an inspiration to everyone... Perhaps. ]
Oh, oh! Look over here! This one has quite a lot... But... Hmm. [ A frown. ] Can you reach this?
[ It's pretty high up... He could climb it but he doesn't want to accidentally tear his clothes!? Also he's small... Maybe he can climb on someone's shoulders. ]
D.
Ya'know, I don't really see why we're doing this... I keep getting dirt on my clothes.
[ A small sigh. He misses sleeping on a warm comfy bed! His clothes... He can't get them stained!? Why!!
He opens a backpack, that had most of the essentials in them to see what they have left after a day or two of camping. He looks #concerned. ]
Oh... Haha, oh no. Guess what we just ran out of... [ It's food. It's time to go primal. ]
7a did you call for a hero
But what's this? A chance to show off his tree-whacking expertise?
Look he may not be an expert in actuality but this mission can change thatHe plants his hands on his hips and nods determinedly.]
With a long enough stick, I can get so many chestnuts.
[He smiles down at Sadamune.]
I can already see everyone's excited faces when we get back!
ur not micchan
[ Everyone gets nicknames. Everyone.
Sadamune walks around in a circle, looking at the ground. There are fall leaves everywhere, and are practically covering the ground. ]
Heheh... I guess we should go find a stick first, or at this wait we both would look super lame in front of everyone if we can't reach it.
[ And there's no way, he's going to look lame, you know. ]
ur right he's cooler
Perhaps he should help, though. Because if anyone else stumbled upon them right now, that wouldn't be a good thing at all. All these leaves, though...makes it hard to find any sticks that may be buried.]
Hm...
[He looks up at the chestnut-laden tree and then gets an idea.]
Yeah! You look on the ground.
[Since you're closer to it. Practical.]
And I'll look at the branches, see if there's anything loose.
[He's tall enough, this'll be a piece of cake. And soon enough, he sees one hanging by some bark, so he reaches...!
And comes up just a little bit short. No matter, time to jump!]
A-hup!
[He gets a hold of the branch! But it snaps off before he realizes...!
And down goes Kanesada right on his butt. Oh no, did Sadamune see? He whips his head around to make sure, all while trying to get back to his feet.]
gota work harder kanesan...
He'll continue to try though!
But... He can't help but watch someone as tall as Izumi attempt to get a chestnut - so naturally, his eyes wander to watch him. ]
Uuwoah...
[ He covers his mouth. Yes, he saw everything. ]
That was so... Uncool.
[ Gasp. ]
do your part and praise him more
No...
This is terrible, this is awful, this is no good. He's gotta salvage himself from this wreckage!]
Tch!
[He quickly wipes himself off, then gathers up his stick. Because, look, this was still a success in one manner. Focus on that part!
So he sniffs once and keeps his chin up, swinging to knock some of those chestnuts down. And look at that, it's another success! He'll be cool again before they head back to the Citadel if it's the last thing he does.]
no!!
[ Hand still over his mouth, Sadamune realized he may have gone a bit too far. But listen it was uncool... He's saying it like it is!
Did he offend Izumi that much!?
Though, when one chestnut hits the ground Sadamune claps! ]
Oh, oh! Woah, look Izumi! You did it. Now, that's pretty cool!
[ Are you happy now...!? ]
why not!!
So he swings again, looking down every now and then to make sure Sadamune isn't in danger of getting conked on his noggin. What kind of vice-commander sword would he be if he let others get damaged under his watch?
But that's right! You bet he's cool.
He's very happy thanks]I told you. We're gonna bring back so many chestnuts.
u gotta be cooler!?
stuff it he's super cool
3!!
Oh, Sada-chan! You shouldn't walk around here without a few extra layers since it's getting cold. [And just as a precaution, he'll set down those pieces of wood for a brief moment before unzipping his own tracksuit jacket to hand to the tantou. Yes. Mitsutada will be fine without it, and it'd be super uncool if he made Sadamune suffer the cold alone.]
It's not cool to get sick, you know. Make sure you're dressed properly as the temperature drops, and eat lots of my delicious cooking so you can be strong and healthy for the fall.
[Now, with that out of the way, he'll go ahead and pick up that wood again.]
Say, why don't you come with me to the furnace? You'll be able to warm up faster if you're near the heat...!
sparkles
Wahh, Micchan's cooking is the best. You should let me help next time too!
[ because he can cook delicious things too! They can make something extra delicious? They'd be the best cooks in the citadel, honestly. No one can compare to their duo. ]
Maybe we should make some soup, it's cold... Soup is good, yeah?
[ Hmm... Soup. Yes, good idea. Now, with a human body, he feels hunger so naturally he has an appetite now; one that craves warm soup in the cold fall weather, especially.
Oh! Micchan said something else, and Sadamune immediately perks up. ]
Oh, oh! Is that what the wood is for? Let me help!
POSES
[Shimmers! Human bodies sure are weird things, but Mitsutada managed to get the hang of understanding its functions rather quickly. He'd be especially happy to let Sadamunue cook with him, and he can totally teach the other all of his super awesome techniques?]
Ah, then help me carry some of this wood. The furnace isn't too far off, so follow me. [With a smile, he'll lean down so Sadamune and gather up however many pieces he can hold before heading off down the corridor.
It's located in a small room, a somewhat rusty metal box...cage thing sitting in the back with multiple pipes leading to different places in the citadel
how to describe furnace???.]Oh, be careful, Sada-chan. There's fire inside so don't stand too close to it, okay?
so cool...
[ He hungers for soup.
BUT ANYWAY, he takes as much wood as he can from Micchan and bounds after him to the furnace. Once he sees the furnace, Sadamune's eyes open wide. He looks so excited! ]
Uwoahh, I didn't know we had this over here.
[ He definitely does get extreme close, until Micchan tells him not to. ]
Oh, sorry sorry! It's really warm though... What do we do with the wood, Micchan?
the coolest...
IN THE MEANTIME...]
I guess we just chuck it into the fire. [First, he's gotta open up the window so they can do just that. Of course, it's okay for Mitsutada to be standing so close to the furnace because he's a Big Sword and can handle it, though.]
Here, why don't you try it first? I'll hold the door open for you.
[Yes... some bonding experience with Sada-chan.]
When we're done here, let's go and prepare some soup. Ah, we should also find a warmer coat for you too, so you're not freezing cold all day.

( Says Mutsunokami "My clothes are always torn" Yoshiyuki. He's crouched over a bundle of sticks and trying to start a friction fire to no avail. He feels like this was easier when he was watching people do it a long time ago but he's never actually done it himself... This would probably be easier if he just used matches but this way just looks more fun?
He's so focused, it's a suprise he even hears at all. Looking up slowly, he squints at Sadamune, )
... Shampoo, right?
( Right? )
no subject
[ Sadamune just pouts -- Mutsunokami's clothes aren't all that stylish! They're always so torn, and have some weird tail on it too??? What kind of style can you call that! Sadly, Mutsunokami's clothes does not get the Sadachan Seal Of Stylish Approval(TM).
After a small pause, Sadamune digs through the backpack a bit more. A small sigh of relief leaves his lips when he finds shampoo, but then he shakes his head. ]
Nope! It's all here... Buuut... We're all outta food.
no subject
Whaaaaat?
( He can't believe it and he comes over to look into the foodless void that is their pack. )
I asked the kitchen to make sure we had enough.
( This isn't their fault, clearly. )
7A
Oh? [Walking over towards Taikogane
because referring to him as Sadamune in narration get weird when I have a Sadamune as well, Kikkou glances up at the high branches. Hmm.] I think I could reach it, if I use a stick to strike it hard.no subject
That's a good point. ]Oh! Brother, there you are!
[ Taikogane would usually rush off to see if Micchan could help him, but he doesn't seem to be here at the moment! Though, Kikkou is here and that's just as good. ]
Do ya gotta stick by any chance? I thought I could reach 'em myself... Or climb the tree, but I don't want to risk tearing my clothes.
[ That wouldn't be cool at all. ]
no subject
Let's try to avoid that as much as possible. [Though, he suspect Shokudaikiri Mitsutada would be more than ready to mend Taikogane's clothes. Kikkou shakes his head.] But no, I don't have a stick with me yet. I've been collecting the chestnuts I can reach with my hands.
[That might be why his white tracksuit looks a little dirty.]
7A!
Well, no... but I think you can reach it.
[ he looks back towards sadamune, pointing upwards at that particular branch. ]
Want a lift?
rip sadachan 2016
Sadamune first, tilts his head to the side a bit... Because he can't reach it? Then the realization dawns when he realizes Tsurumaru obviously means that he can climb on his shoulders, for sure! There's a big grin on his face, he's excited! ]
Oh, I do I do!
[ He bounds over to Tsurumaru... ] What do ya want me to do?
tonight..... he flies
but before sadamune gets the chance to ask, here goes nothing! ]
I want you to get as many chestnuts as you can, starting... now!
[ and then he just flings sadamune a good few feet into the air, he's so sorry. ]
screams
There's definitely a yelp from Sadamune as he goes soaring up into the air. He frantically grabs for a branch... Which he does manage to get a hold of!
now he's just ... hanging there. He wraps his legs around the branch and just??? CONTINUES TO HANG THERE, THANKS TSURU... ]
A..aahh! Wait, wait! Was this your plan all along!? What do I do!?
[ is this it... is he going to die... remember him. ]
no subject
Of course it was! Thanks for playing along.
[ as for what he wants sadamune to do, however — his plans certainly didn't end at "stick innocent tantou in tree". ]
Can you pull yourself up onto the branch? That way, you can just drop the chestnuts as you find them, and I'll catch them in our basket.
[ which is currently laying on the ground next to him, sad and chestnut-less. ]
3!
We have some extra blankets, I think? And someone's got a fire going outside. [But that's not as nice since it makes everything stink like smoke, plus your back is cold all the time.]
...I guess I could bring out the brazier too, and we could cook some mochi.
